Description:
The primary responsibility of the Facilities Review Committee is to advise and assist the Board of Directors in developing and administering an ongoing program to protect life, limb, and property of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association, to preserve and enhance certain assets of the CLPOA, including the roads, bridges, the drainage system, the perimeter fencing, the street lighting, and signage and
other areas as may be assigned by the Board.
In fulfilling its responsibility, the Common Facilities Review Committee shall perform functions, which include the following:
- In cooperation with the Director of Operations, provide advice and assistance in developing reasonable standards for the maintenance of such assets
- Review and propose as needed changes in the rules and regulations relating to the safe, equitable, and pleasurable use of the roads and streets
- Work with the Director of Operations to provide advice and assistance to
the Board in establishing the priorities for improvements to such assets for each fiscal year and in developing long range plans for ensuring the most effective preservation and future use of such assets
- Serve as the hearing panel for members requesting additional street lighting, signage, and other related matters
- Prepare programs and procedures, in the form of recommendations, to the Board, to maintain and improve the safety and security of residents and their properties, and of the CLPOA grounds, buildings, and facilities
- Identify hazards to residents and recommend protective and corrective measures for action by the Board
- Advise the Board and the General Manager on any matter of community safety and security coming to the attention of the committee that may require action by the Board and/or staff
- Consult with local law enforcement agencies, fire departments and other organizations to obtain information and guidance pertaining to community safety and security
- Develop and conduct programs and classes to distribute information and guidance pertaining to security and safety to the owners and residents
- Work with the City of Canyon Lake officials to develop and administer an effective community watch program for Canyon Lake
- Perform such other related functions as directed by the Board
