Have you recently received a POA citation that you would like to appeal? After being notified via mail, you have 15 days to complete a Citation Appeals Request form signed by the Prime or Associate member. Then fax, email, or submit the request form in person to the Hearing Services Coordinator, Melanie Patrick. Once submitted, the appeal will be processed and you will be notified via mail as to your appeals date in which you present your case to the Appeals Committee. On the day of your appeal, sign-ups begin at 5:00 PM with the first case heard at 5:30 PM. The first person to sign-up will be the first person seen. Appeals are always held on the 4th Thursday of the month except for the month of November in which it occurs on the third Thursday. Appeals are not held during the month of December. Traffic School The POA also offers traffic school as another method to remove a citation from a Member's account. All Members, their lessees and guests, could be eligible to attend traffic school for any moving violation occurring on the street or lake. A member is eligible to attend traffic school for a moving violation once every 18 months. This eligibility is per person and not per tract and lot. **Upon completion of Traffic School, the fine and violation will be removed from the Member’s account.** Our next scheduled class will be the last Tuesday of the month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the POA office. You must register for traffic school at least two weeks prior to the class. Payment of $25.00 is due at the time of registration. Furthermore, anyone who is learning how to drive or who would like a refresher course on the rules of the road is welcome to attend at no cost. To sign up for traffic school please call or visit the Member Services counter.
