Traffic school

The Board approved the establishment of a traffic school as part of the appeals process in order to allow for a fine reduction for members who take a class and learn about the Association’s driving rules. The traffic school is for those appealing traffic tickets served inside the private community. The fee is $25 for those with citations; free to those who are coming for educational purposes only. The next class will be July 15th from 7:00-9:00 PM. The instructor is Don Duncan, a licensed driving school teacher.

Were you aware that any time you change the exterior of your home or property in any way, shape or form, a permit is required by the ACC Department? Requirements for the City of Canyon Lake (Building Department) and the Property Owners Association are not usually the same.
While the City handles structural matters, the Property Owners Association deals with the aesthetics of the community and each property owner is required to notify the Association of any exterior changes to their properties. This would include “no cost” improvement applications for paint (including the same color), repair, and maintenance to existing structures.
It’s also important to know that absolutely no construction be commenced until the application and plans have been reviewed and stamped approved by the (all-volunteer) Architectural Control Committee in writing. This includes, but is not limited to, concrete, fences, block walls of any sort, patios/covers, lakeside improvements, etc. as well as any new home construction.
The CC&Rs provide that no improvement may be installed, placed or moved on a lot, or altered or modified without the written approval of the ACC Committee. This holds especially true after approval has already been given. The ACC Committee continues to hold the standards of the community in its best interest, and changes to previously approved plans can prove costly to the offending member, as well as the membership in general.
