Group Three mailbox replacements will begin on June 25 and are anticipated to be complete by June 29. The following locations are part of Group Three and will be affected.

Mail delivery by USPS will cease at these locations on Friday, June 22. Residents will need to retrieve mail from their existing mailboxes before this date.  Mail will be held by USPS Sun City Post Office located at 29700 Haun Road in Menifee (phone number 951.679.7886 or 951.679.7307). Once new CBUs are installed mail will resume and all “hold mail” will be delivered by the postal carrier to the new mailboxes. Normal mail delivery at these locations will resume on or before Friday, June 29.

Group Three - Mailbox Keys Available Starting June 25

Starting June 25, Group Three may pick-up their new mailbox keys at the CLPOA’s Operations office located at 29081 Longhorn Drive in Canyon Lake during regular business hours (Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

New mailbox keys will only be provided to the homeowner, valid tenant, or property manager.  The individual must provide proper identification (e.g. CLPOA Card, State Issued ID, Military ID, or Passport) and complete a Mailbox Key Release Agreement.  Letters and forms will be mailed to addresses affected.

Informed Delivery by USPS

The CLPOA strongly suggests that residents sign up for the Informed Delivery service offered by the USPS.  This free service allows you to digitally preview your mail as it arrives. Informed Delivery allows you to view greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces and track packages in one convenient location – your own email inbox, every day.  To sign up, simply visit https://informeddelivery.usps.com.


Project Description

The mailbox clusters throughout the community are aged and have exceeded their serviceable lifespan to the point where replacement parts are no longer available. The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association's (CLPOA) Board of Directors approved replacing these aging mailbox clusters with more secure and aesthetically pleasing cluster box units (CBU).

Scope of Work

The CLPOA will be replacing mailboxes at 96 physical locations throughout the community in by groups over the period of  12 months. The existing free-standing pedestal-style cluster mailbox units and parcel mailboxes will be replaced with front loading CBUs. The new CBUs are made of heavy duty aluminum with stainless steel hardware, making them more secure than the existing mailboxes. There will be three different CBU configurations with either 8, 12, or 16 mailboxes. The mailboxes will be replaced based on their condition, the worst being replaced first. The location of the mailboxes and individual box numbers will remain the same.

Project Benefits

The new mailboxes will not only help beautify the community, but they will also be more secure as they are made of heavy duty aluminum with stainless steel hardware.

Construction Timeline

Project will be done in groups over the next 12 months.
