Email Board Treasurer O’Dell
Term: 2019/21 (2 year term)
Thank you to all of the community members who have allowed me to represent our varied interest in our “bit of paradise”. Thank you to my fellow board members for selecting me this year to serve in the capacity of Treasurer. I look forward to working with all of you as we move onward with accomplishing our joint goal of maintaining and enhancing our facilities and amenities.
I am excited to serve as the Board liaison to the Facilities Planning Committee. I have over 30 years’ experience related to facilities planning and operations. My background will assist with the goal of planning for long term needs driven by our community demographics.
I also have the pleasure as serving as the Board liaison to the Finance Committee. This committee is a group of hardworking community members tasked with the difficult job of making budget recommendations to the Board. I would urge all interested members to attend the budget workshops conducted each year and get involved in the conversations.
I have over 30 years experience related to facilities planning, space utilization, construction, maintenance and operations at California State University, Long Beach and Mt. San Jacinto Community College. I started as a car washer at Cal State Long Beach eventually rising through the ranks to become the Director of Facilities Management. After the birth of my son, I changed my career focus becoming the Assistant Director of Physical Planning / Space Management. In 2006 I had the opportunity to leave CSULB and join the administrative team at Mt. San Jacinto Community College, once again in Facilities Planning / Construction Management.
In 2009 my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness so I retired from MSJC to care for him. Upon his death in 2010, I inherited Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant as owner / operator until late 2017 when I was able to sell the business/property.
- Utilize my experience to assist in planning for long term needs driven by the community demographics.
- Collaboratively implement the Board’s shared vision of enhancing the community’s facilities and amenities
- Work towards expanding the services the Canyon Lake POA provides.
