Ongoing communication is necessary for any organization, large or small. The Board identified expanding ongoing and effective communication as one of its five goals to work towards this year.
In support of this goal, there has been a significant expansion of information made available to the community in the last ten months. For instance, the website's public pages expanded along with the information provided in the Board's regular session agenda each month.
There has also been a total of 36 articles (not including this one) issued by the Board during the last ten months. These articles range in topics from Board meeting recaps and outcomes to specific issues such as project updates, including a project list with established milestones, traffic and parking concerns, information relating to the Reserve Study, budget development including a budget model and five-year budget plan, and a review of the appeals process. These updates are emailed through website notification alerts (sign up here), included in the weekly email newsletter, posted on the Canyon Lake POA's social media sites and added to the Board News page.
In addition to the many articles and the regularly scheduled Board Meetings, we held five Board Workshops. Workshops are open sessions in which members are invited to provide comments to the Board on specific topics and allow discussion amongst all five Board members. Each Workshop provides a wealth of information from all sides of the issues being considered.
To further expand the communications with the members, the Board Liaisons for each of the Standing Committees attended each Committee Meeting. They are responsible for providing updates to the Committee Members regarding the Open Session meetings. Each Board Liaison was required to provide a Committee Update during the Director's comments section of the Board Meetings. This enabled members to regularly provide information on the status of various projects assigned to them by the Board as a whole.
Members are once again encouraged to sign up for newsletters and notifications on the Notify Me page in order to receive information through emails, texts and other methods.
