Martins Landing Dedication Ceremony

Martins Landing

On Thursday,October 25 the Canyon Lake POA proudly presented Don and Elinor Martin with a new historical marker near the volleyball courts at Holiday Harbor Park. This monument is in honor of the Martin family, Evans Fish Camp, and Martin's Landing. The Martins are truly the pioneers of this beautiful community we all live in and enjoy. Elinor is the granddaughter of Henry Evan's who purchased the land Canyon Lake sits on in 1890. Her family owned and operated Evan's Fish Camp and then went on to run Martins Landing which was home of the Canyon Queen tour boat, the Village Store and Marina.

Don and Elinor Martin were joined by their family, friends from the Menifee Historical Society, Menifee Mayor and Historical Society Board Member Bill Zimmerman, and Canyon Lake POA Board Members Dale Welty, Jim Barringham, and Phil Hawgood, among others at this ceremony.
