Flick n Float Movie Night

First Flick n' Float Movie Night of Summer

Saturday, June 16 | Movie Starts at Dusk

Come to the pool this Saturday evening for the CLPOA's first Flick n' Float Movie Night airing Finding Dory. This family-friendly movie is about a forgetful blue tang fish, Dory, and her search for her long-lost parents. The movie will begin at dusk, however pool staff will start giving wrist bands at 7 p.m. This is anticipated to be a popular showing so be sure to arrive early.

Happy Camp Lottery Tomorrow

The Happy Camp July 4th lottery is Saturday, June 16 at 9 a.m. at Happy Camp. If you registered for a chance to win a camp site you must be present at the lottery for a chance to win with your CLPOA ID and ticket received at the time of registration.

New this year, reservations are site specific, water-front sites have a five-day minimum and all other sites have a three-day minimum. Upon winning a site members will need to make a non-refundable deposit of $50 for water-front sites or $30 for all other sites upon winning a site reservation. There is only one entry allowed per tract-lot.

Junior Golf Camp Starts In July

Whether your player is swinging the club for the first time, or looking to refine their skills the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club's Junior Golf Camp is a fun way for kids to develop a lifelong skill in the game of golf. This fun camp will take place July 9 through July 14 and it is only $45 per child (ages 5 to 17).

July STEM Camps

Educate your kids in the fast growing STEM industry!  STEM camps foster valuable 21st-Century life skills like problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. There will be two different classes: Battlebots (limited space) for children ages 7 to 12 and Jurrasic Robots for children ages 5 to 8. Camps will run from July 2 through July 6 (no class on July 4). Junior Pickleball Clinic Starts June 25

The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club is hosting a Junior Pickleball Clinic June 25 through June 29 for children ages 10 to 17. Registration is $5 and space is limited to only 40 children (parents are asked to accompany their children). Project Updates

Amphitheater Ribbon Cutting Postponed

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony scheduled for June 22 has been postponed. Although the project will be completed, City requirements may delay final inspection beyond the proposed event date. However, the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild concert featuring “The Rocktops” scheduled to play that evening at 6 p.m. will now play on the upper level of the park (adjacent to the street) at 8 p.m. The outdoor movie, “Cars 3,” sponsored by the CLPOA will be shown on June 29 at Indian Beach. 

This week, work at Holiday Harbor was focused on installing the new Marine Patrol building.

Mailbox Replacement Group 3 Starts June 25

A new set of mailbox replacements will begin on June 25. This will be the third group. Mail delivery will cease to locations in this group on Friday, June 22. Mail can be picked up from the USPS Sun City Post Office located on Haun Road. Starting Monday, June 25 residents in this group may pick up their new mailbox keys at the CLPOA's Operations office located at 29081 Longhorn Drive

June Rule Changes

The CLPOA's Board recently approved several rule changes at the Regular Session Board Meeting on June 4, 2018. Please take the time to review these changes as they have been adopted and are being enforced.

No Fishing Off Main Causeway

The CLPOA's Board recently approved changes to General Rule, Section 4.4, Fishing Is Prohibited By Land On The Main Causeway. The newly adopted rule states: Fishing is prohibited by land on the Main Causeway (East and West side), the North Causeway (North and South side) between both parking lot entries, and the Treasure Island Causeway. Fishing is also prohibited from all common docks when boats and / or swimmers are present.

Important Lake Rule Reminders

With summer approaching, activity on the lake will be increasing. Boaters who plan to tow skiers/riders are reminded that there are CLPOA rules that prohibit the use of wake-enhancing devices and require a safe distance for towing on the main lake.
