Pool Opens

Pool Opens Saturday

It's hard to believe that warmer weather is right around the corner. A great place to cool down is the pool located adjacent to the Canyon Lake Lodge! The pool opens tomorrow, March 9 and we are starting the season off with brand new pool furniture. So come on down and join us!

• Lap Swim & Water Aerobics 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. 
• Open Swim 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.


Pool Activities

Flick-n-Float Movie Night - Mar. 30

Join us for our first Flick-n-Float Movie Night on Saturday, March 30. We will be showing the Disney classic Aladdin. This is a free event for Canyon Lake POA residents. The movie will start at dusk. 


Water Aerobics

Now that we are moving into spring and Fish Out of Water classes have ended, join us at the pool for a fun water cardio exercise! Learn effective and safe combinations of movements to strengthen the heart and tone the body. Starting March 11 classes are at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Classes are only $2 per class or $25 per month unlimited. For more pricing and  information, call the the pool office at 951.244.6841 x617. 


Swim Lessons Signups Start Mar. 9

Save-the-date, June 17 swimming lessons and water polo classes will start at the pool. Sign-ups for these lessons begins on Saturday, March 9 at the pool office. Visit the Classes Page on our website for more details. 

Special Open Session Board Meeting - Mar. 14

The Canyon Lake POA will have a Special Open Session Board Meeting on Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge. The Board will discuss and review the 2019/20 Schedule of Fees for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2019. This meeting is open to the membership and it will be televised on the Canyon Lake POA website and City PEG channel (Spectrum 29/Frontier 39).

Little League Opening Day Mar. 9

Canyon Lake Little League Opening Day is Saturday, March 9. The snack bar will be serving a pancake breakfast and selling apparel from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Storm mascot Thunder will be taking photos with players on the field at 8:30 a.m. Opening Day ceremonies start at 9:30 a.m. There will be vendors selling merchandise, a raffle and face painting. Vendors include My Buddies Pizza, IVibe Coffee, Kona Ice and Lux Lids, to name a few.

Free Senior Nutrition Program

The Senior Committee contacted various organizations inquiring about programs that offer free food assistance to seniors in our community. The Riverside County Office on Aging offers home delivered meals to persons 60 years of age or older and spouses of someone 60 or older. This program is designed for those who have transportation or health issues that prevent them from taking care of their own nutritional needs. For more information about this program for either yourself, a family member or friend, or a neighbor please call 800.510.2020.

Great White Live Apr. 6

American hard rock band, Great White is coming to the Canyon Lake Lodge on Saturday, April 6.  Great White gained popularity in the 1980s and early 1990s. Their arsenal of songs include the Grammy nominated Best Hard Rock Performance hit, “Once Bitten, Twice Shy".

VIP Admission is $64 and General Admission is $39. The doors for this show will open at 6:30 p.m. and the opening act starts at 7:30 p.m.

Great White

Frank Sinatra Tribute Concert

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild is bringing in Matt Mauser for an enchanting Frank Sinatra Tribute Concert on Friday, May 17. Mauser provides a mesmerizing experience by recreating the subtleties of Sinatra's smooth voice and unequaled phrasing. 
 
Ticket prices are $25 General Admission and $45 VIP Reserved Seating. Information and tickets are available on the Guild's website, www.canyonlakeguild.org.

Mailbox Replacement Project
Group 7 Starts March 25

The Mailbox Replacement Project will continue with Group 7 starting March 25. 

Affected Residents: Your mail will be held starting Friday, March 22. Please retrieve any mail before this time. Mail will be held at the USPS Sun City Post Office located on Haun Road in Menifee. Normal mail delivery will resume on or before March 29.

2019 Election Details

Three of the five seats on the Canyon Lake POA's Board of Directors will be up for election in May 2019. The two-year term of Mike Harris, Phil Hawgood, and Tom Nathan are ending. Each of those members are also eligible to run for another term. Below are the members who intend to run for the 2019/21 Board of Directors.

Member Services Hours - Mar. 23

The Canyon Lake POA's Member Services office has a staff training event the morning of Saturday March, 23. The office will not be open until 11 a.m. on that day. Hours on March 23 will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

East Gate Pedestrian Gate

The Canyon Lake POA recently installed a new pedestrian gate at the East Gate entrance. To access the community through this gate, residents may use their Canyon Lake POA member card. Residents can touch their card to the card reader and the gate will unlock.

Committee Recognition Dinner 

The Canyon Lake POA hosted a committee recognition dinner on February 25. Over 140 volunteers and their guests attended this celebratory event which honored their hard work and service to this community. Guests were entertained with smooth jazz by Ken Rice, Simply Sax and enjoyed a delicious dinner, certificates of appreciation and special gift of Canyon Lake's own private label wine.
