Relax on Labor Day at Maui Monday


Break out your favorite Hawaiian shirt or hula skirt and celebrate the end of summer Hawaiian style at the 7th annual Maui Monday on Labor Day, September 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lodge. There will be food, fun, and entertainment for the whole family. Plus, once the sun goes down (approximately 8 p.m.) everyone will be invited to gather on the beach to watch hula dancers, Samoan drummers, and fire dances performed by the Professional Polynesian Entertainment Group.

Flick-n-Float Movie - Aug. 31

Come to the pool on August 31 for summer's final for Flick -n- Float Movie Night. Flick-n-Float movies are free for all Canyon Lake POA members. Please be sure to bring your Canyon Lake POA ID card. The movie will begin at dusk. All pool rules are enforced during these special events.

Kids Fishing Derby - Sept. 7

Kids ages 5 to 15 are invited to participate in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters 33rd annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, September 7. Registration is from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and weight ins from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. A complimentary hot dog lunch will be served at 12 p.m. and awards will be presented at 1 p.m. Even though event activities take place Holiday Harbor Park, kids may fish anywhere on the lake, but must be back in time for weigh in.

Doobie Brothers Tribute Concert - Sept. 7

Fans of the Doobie Brothers will be treated to a tribute to the hit 70s rock group on September 7 at the Canyon Lake Lodge. This concert is sponsored by the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild. General Admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $45.

Participate in the Car Show! 

Owners of pre-1977 vehicles are welcome to participate, they do not need to be part of the Canyon Lake Car Club or a resident of Canyon Lake to participate. Registration is $25 and includes a participant goody bag with event memorabilia. Early registration is recommended. Cars are judged by peers, industry professionals, Canyon Lake POA staff, and City staff. More than 25 trophies will be presented.

Taco Tuesdays

Pool September Hours

Pool hours will change starting September 2. The pool will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for lap swim and water aerobics. Open swim will be daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

The Water Aerobics class schedule will also change, starting September 2 there will be Water Aerobic classes Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7 p.m.  Water Aerobic classes are $2.50 per class, $20 for 10 classes or $30 for one month of unlimited classes. Canyon Lake POA homeowners are invited to attend a Board Workshop scheduled on Tuesday, September 3 at the Canyon Lake Lodge from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The topic of this workshop Canyon Lake POA projects.

Board Meeting - Tues. Sept. 3

Reminder, the Canyon Lake POA Regular Session Board Meeting this month will be on Tuesday, September 3 at  7 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Canyon Lake homeowners are welcome to attend these meetings, but are reminded to bring their Canyon Lake POA ID card as it will be used to verify membership.This meeting will be televised live on Spectrum cable channel 29, Frontier cable channel 39, and on our website at www.clpoa.com/watch.

Proposed Special Election

The Board will be reviewing information for a proposed special election at their September 3 Regular Session Board Meeting. The proposed special election ballot measures include: 

  • Remove Proxy Voting [Articles of Incorporation]
  • Remove Cumulative Voting (Bylaws)
  • Extend Future Board Director Terms to Four Years (eliminates the need for director elections every year [Bylaws]
  • Modify 5-foot Fence Height Restriction [CC&R]
  • Empower ACC to select and designate appropriate roofing materials to modify roof material [CC&R]

For those who wish to have a printed booklet, printed copies will be available at the Canyon Lake POA’s Member Services office in mid-September.

Labor Day Hours

The Canyon Lake POA (including Member Services) is closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. The pool will also close early at 8 p.m. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3.

Did you know an estimated 12,000 vehicles come through the gates every day? The most efficient way for members to enter the community is with an RFID transponder affixed to their vehicle. The transponder allows vehicles to use the RFID lanes, which are much quicker. RFID transponders are free for all Canyon Lake POA members!
