Canyon Lake Newsletter

October 25, 2019

Work is wrapping up at the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club. The facility has been closed for the past three weeks for its annual overseed and the Canyon Lake POA also took this opportunity to tackle some other major projects. The entire facility will reopen on Monday, October 28 at 6 a.m.

Parking Lot & Entrance
Over the past few weeks, the entire Country Club parking lot was reconfigured and repaved as part of the Pavement Project. There is now a new streamlined layout with accessible parking near the entrance. New decorative stamped concrete was added to the entry and drive circle. New light poles and LED heads were also installed. Crews are still working on replacing the ageing fountain at the entrance.

Country Club Facility
Crews have been busy inside remodeling the mens locker room with new counters, lockers, partitions, tile, and fixtures. Additionally, new interior doors were added along with a new door to the Magnolia Room.

The special election in Monday, October 28. To date, 978 ballots have been received. Ballots are not recommended to be mailed at this point, however, there is a ballot box available at the Canyon Lake POA Member Services office (during business hours). Please Do Not Feed Geese

The geese in Canyon Lake have become almost as famous as the lake itself. Many residents have enjoyed feeding the geese, however, what they may not realize is that feeding geese is detrimental to them and the environment in many ways. The USDA lists many reasons not to feed wildlife in this informative article

There are signs posted at the Canyon Lake Lodge and several of the beaches and parks advising residents to not feed the geese.

North Ski Access Project

The Canyon Lake POA will be addressing the access issues at North Ski Area by replacing the steep and uneven paths with a new more level pathway from the parking lot. Work will begin next week, and it is anticipated to be completed within two weeks. Following this project, the North Ski Area parking lot will be repaved as part of the Pavement Project.

A big "thank you" to the Canyon Lake Ski Club who generously donated $5,000 towards this project.
