Eastport Sidewalk Project

Project Overview

The Recreation Committee identified a pedestrian accessibility concern near the Eastport exit, where residents walking to the Eastport mailboxes, dog park, and other nearby amenities often had to travel within the roadway or golf cart lane due to the lack of a designated walking path.

To improve pedestrian access, the Canyon Lake POA will be installing a new walking path within the existing right-of-way. The improvement is intended to provide a more accessible route for residents while also enhancing the appearance of the area through additional landscaping.

The work includes the removal of three trees and the installation of a five-foot-wide concrete sidewalk approximately 165 feet in length. Landscaping improvements will follow the sidewalk installation.

Construction is expected to begin with tree removal, followed by grading, sidewalk installation, and landscaping improvements.

Schedule

The project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 18, with the removal of trees. Grading should start the following week and should take 7 –10 days to complete with concrete work. Landscaping is scheduled for the week after 4th of July.
