Jose MOntano

Jose Montano is a dedicated and accomplished professional with a passion for recreation. As the Pool Manager at the Canyon Lake POA, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a strong commitment to providing a positive experience for community members. Since joining the team in 2022, Jose has successfully navigated the pool through the challenging post-COVID period, streamlined swim lessons and water polo registrations, revamped Water Aerobics into Aqua Fitness, and expanded pool activities and events.

Jose's education includes a Bachelor's degree in Sports Psychology & Leadership and a Master's in Coaching and Athletics Administration. He has also acquired a range of valuable skills through his extensive work experience. Before joining the Canyon Lake POA, Jose worked in the recreation field for various community organizations, including school districts, cities, and camps. Jose has demonstrated excellent communication skills throughout his career and has proven to be approachable, creative, and effective in problem-solving. He has supervised multiple sports programs for all ages, organized schedules, created activities, and trained staff to teach children in a positive manner. He has also emphasized the importance of community, respect, and perseverance, and has participated in various community activities, including holiday parades and fundraising dinners.
