Maui Sunday

Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Maui Sunday on September 3, 2023. Maui Sunday is an enduring community tradition infused with Hawaiian flair. Beyond the festivities, this year held a greater purpose: Responding to Maui's wildfire crisis, we stood together to aid affected families through the Hawaii Community Foundation, an organization with a local presence that provides displaced families with food, clothing, and shelter.

There were many fun activities at the event, including water slides, a DJ, entertainment, lawn games, and food vendors. The Lighthouse Restaurant offered a Hawaiian-themed menu, and concluding the event was a special performance on Sunset Beach by a professional Polynesian Entertainment Group. The group’s performance included hula dancers, Samoan drummers, and fire dances.

Of course, the purpose of this year's event was to raise money to support those affected by the fires in Maui, so residents with the means to do so to contributed to The Maui Strong Fund, run by the Hawai’i Community Foundation. The organization has a local presence and provides displaced families with food, clothing, and shelter. Together, we can make a difference. From one “bit of paradise” to another, you can show that Canyon Lake cares by donating.
