Get Ready To Celebrate 4th of July in Canyon Lake

The Canyon Lake POA is proud to have the opportunity to celebrate America with our traditional spectacular fireworks show on July 4th. DJ Mike Shroyer will be playing music starting at 8 p.m. leading up to the show on the Lodge pool deck. The pool will close at 8 p.m., and the national anthem will be performed prior to the firework show. Fireworks are launched from Skipper's Island and start at 9 p.m. Tune into 99.9 FM to hear music synchronized to the fireworks show! The best viewing locations are Happy Camp (Sites reserved during the lottery), Holiday Harbor, Sunset Beach, Main Causeway, and on the lake. Road closures will begin at 8:30 p.m.

The Canyon Lake POA and the City of Canyon Lake ask that everyone cooperate with those in authority to help ensure a safe holiday. The personal safety and enjoyment of all residents and guests is a top priority, and strict enforcement of the law will be applied throughout the weekend.

Use ePasses for Guests

Through dwellingLIVE members can have an ePass sent directly to their visitors via email or text message so they can either print their pass ahead of time, or the gate guard can scan their pass on their smartphone. Visitors can either hold up their smartphone or printed pass for the guard to scan. Gate guards will issue printed parking passes to eligible visitors who haven't yet printed the epass out. ePasses are the easiest way for your visitors to access the community in an expeditious manner.
More About Access Options

Rule Reminder - Pool Use

We kindly remind all pool visitors that you must be a Canyon Lake POA member or accompanied by a member to use the pool. A valid CLPOA card is required for entry. Additionally, to provide a comfortable and spacious pool area, we want to remind members that each tract/lot limits the number of guests to six individuals at any given time. This ensures that all pool-goers have ample space to relax and have fun.

Lake Location Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELM's) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O, and the locations of each letter were coordinated with the assistance of the City of Canyon Lake and the Canyon Lake Fire Station.  Residents who have an emergency at a park or on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The letters are stored in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system so that the location can be determined quickly.

PROJECT UPDATES

Pickleball Courts

Exciting news! Construction is underway for the addition of two new pickleball courts at Eastport Park. Initially established in 2017, the original four courts quickly became very popular within the community. With the introduction of these two new courts, the facility will be further enhanced, ensuring increased accessibility for all members of our vibrant community. The courts are expected to be completed in the fall.

New Dock at Harrelson Park

Now is the perfect time to check out Harrelson Park. Recently enhanced with a new dock, Harrelson Park provides the perfect blend of relaxation and recreation.  Enjoy a fun picnic in the shade areas, surrounded by nature's beauty or cast your line and reel at this popular fishing spot.

You can also bring your furry companions along, as Harrelson Park is pet-friendly, allowing them to join in on the outdoor fun and exploration (but please keep them leashed at this park).

Canyon Lake Drive Medians

Work is wrapping up on revamping our 55-year-old medians on Canyon Lake Drive. The newly installed palm trees have been untied and will now go through several rounds of trimming. This trimming process is essential to shape the palm trees into their desired aesthetic form, promoting healthy growth and ensuring that they complement the overall revitalized appearance of the medians.

"Year 2" Pavement Improvement Project Approved

At the June Regular Session Board Meeting, the Board approved 7.8 million for the 'Year 2' Pavement Improvement Project. This project went to bid in April 2023 (click here to view the bid package).

The current balance of our Road Reserve and Road Litigation funds is $8,764,000.When we move the funds budgeted for 2022/23 ($2,019,008) to this fund from the Operating fund we will have $10,783,008 to use for this year's project. Each year, the Canyon Lake POA Board contributes more money to the Road Reserve funds for the purpose of continually maintaining our 37 miles of privately owned roads. The roads are the Canyon Lake POA's largest asset and maintenance liability.

Solar Project

Work is finishing up on the solar structures at the Country Club as staff works with contractors to add hard surfaces under the new solar structures on the driving range. The solar project has been in development by the last 10 Boards over the last 10 years. The Finance, Facilities Planning, and Green committees have all been involved in this project throughout its development. This project will provide much needed shade along with decades of clean energy and millions of dollars in savings to the Canyon Lake POA operating budget, all at zero upfront cost.

Lodge Renovation

This week work continued on the stage/bandstand with the trellis, planters and firepits being installed. Footings for the large shade structure were also poured this week. In the bar, doors, windows, and interior trim were installed. This is all still part of the first phase that focuses on the exterior patio and bar area. Phase 2 is the restaurant area, and Phase 3 is the lounge/dance floor. Dividing the project into these three phases allows the least disruption to the restaurant and bar functions so that the restaurant may remain open during construction. Our goal is to have this entire renovation complete by fall 2023. The renovation will not affect concerts and events in the Holiday Bay Room. We intend to keep the restaurant and bar open as much as possible throughout the construction.
