Movie Night at the Park

Experience the magic of Movies at the Park at Indian Beach—where family fun meets cinematic delight, all for free! As the sun sets and dusk approaches, grab your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for an unforgettable movie night under the twinkling sky. The feature presentation is an animated comedy about a superhero's dog on a quest to save his most beloved relationship. It's a fantastic opportunity to gather with your friends and family to enjoy a family-friendly film and create beautiful memories together.

Maui Sunday

Embrace the aloha spirit on Sunday, September 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lodge. Many fun activities are planned, including water slides, a DJ, entertainment, lawn games, and food vendors: Baja Shrimp and Tiki Treats. The Lighthouse Restaurant will also offer a Hawaiian-themed menu in the Holiday Bay Room. At 7 p.m., the community is invited down to Sunset Beach to watch a performance by the professional Polynesian Entertainment Group.

Beyond the festivities, this year holds a greater purpose: responding to Maui's wildfire crisis. We are encouraging residents to donate what they can to the Maui Strong Fund, who is providing financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people and places affected by the fires. Additionally, there will be a booth at this event near the Lodge stairs with more relief effort options.

PROJECT UPDATES

Lodge Project Update

This week, crews continued working on the expansive tile work on the large dining patio at the Lodge. Indoors, the tile flooring and carpet are now complete. We're in the final stretch on the bar and we can’t wait for everyone to see the finished product in person, very soon!

The renovations will not affect concerts or events in the Holiday Bay Room. We will soon close the Lighthouse restaurant for it’s renovation, followed by the lounge area. All of the badly damaged 23-year-old flooring in the long hallway near the Holiday Bay Room will also be replaced. We expect all of these areas to be open later this year, with entirely new furniture and a great new vibe!

Solar Project Update at Golf Course

The solar structures over the driving range at the Golf Course are complete, and at the July Regular Session Board Meeting, the Board approved funding to restore the driving range area. The area under the solar structures is currently being renovated. Included in this repair and replacement reserve project are a new concrete pad for driving mats, interlocking pavers for a seating area, seat walls, planters and landscaping.

Current E-bike Rules

E-bikes have rapidly gained popularity as a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation in Canyon Lake. However, just like any other form of transportation, it's essential to be aware of rules related to riding e-bikes that will help you stay safe while enjoying your e-bike.

Canyon Lake allows e-bikes that have pedals and pedal assist functionality, a max speed of 20 MPH, and a 750W or less motor (GR.5.2a). Riders under 18 must wear helmets, motorized/non-motorized (GR.5.1j), and all riders must stop for stop signs and school bus signals (GR.5.1n). Additionally, riders should not cross double-yellow lines (GR.5.1p). The curfew for minors (under 18) is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the prime member is responsible for any behavior and actions of minors (GR.2.11). Further, possession of alcohol by minors anywhere or open containers by any person in a vehicle (including golf carts) is prohibited (GR.2.20). Lastly, speed contests and exhibitions are not permitted (GR.5.1k). Fines for all of these violations range from $50 to $600.

School Bus Reminder

School is back in session! As kids return to school, it is important for drivers to remember to stop for school buses and be on the lookout for kids on bikes, skateboards, and other transports commuting to and from school or bus stops. Community Patrol regularly monitors the bus stops throughout the community, and there is a $100 fine for failure to stop at a school bus signal (GR.5.1.n). As always, if you see a driver speeding or driving erratically, please call Community Patrol at 951.246.2721

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELM's) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters to they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We still recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.
