Pickleball Courts Wrapping Up!

The Pickleball Courts Phase 2 Project which adds two additional courts to the existing four courts is wrapping up. All of the courts are currently closed through Saturday, September 30 while the new courts are painted and the existing courts are resurfaced. Resurfacing optimizes player performance by rejuvenating the existing courts and making them feel as new as the two additional courts will feel. The existing courts will reopen Sunday, October 1 and the two new pickleball courts will open on Tuesday, October 3. These additional courts will greatly enhance the playing experience for Canyon Lake residents, providing more opportunities to enjoy this popular sport.

Park Fall Hours

As we say hello to fall, please note that our park and beach hours change. On October 1, parks will open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. These hours will continue into spring until April 30, 2024. For more information about our parks, visit www.clpoa.com/parks.

Street Parking Reminder

For the benefit of all residents and visitors, we'd like to emphasize the parking regulations in our community. Specificaly, per the Rules & Regulations (GR.5.3), parking is strictly prohibited at any location with curb markings, as well as within a 12-foot radius of a stop sign. This rule is in place to ensure the safety and accessibility of our streets.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to these rules, as disregarding them may result in a $50 fine. By respecting these parking guidelines, we can all contribute to a safer and more efficient traffic flow in our neighborhood. Your understanding and compliance are greatly appreciated.

Fall Alum Schedule

Canyon Lake's fall alum application will take place starting Monday, October 2. Treatment will take place on the main body on October 2 and October 3, the main boat ramp to the west end of the East Bay on October 4, the East Bay on October 5, and the North Ski Area on October 6.

Alum application is a safe method of minimizing algae growth by reducing nutrients in the lake.

Current E-bike Rules

E-bikes have rapidly gained popularity as a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation in Canyon Lake. However, just like any other form of transportation, it's essential to be aware of rules related to riding e-bikes that will help you stay safe while enjoying your e-bike.

Canyon Lake allows e-bikes that have pedals and pedal assist functionality, a max speed of 20 MPH, and a 750W or less motor (GR.5.2a). Riders under 18 must wear helmets, motorized/non-motorized (GR.5.1j), and all riders must stop for stop signs and school bus signals (GR.5.1n). Additionally, riders should not cross double-yellow lines (GR.5.1p). The curfew for minors (under 18) is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the prime member is responsible for any behavior and actions of minors (GR.2.11). Further, possession of alcohol by minors anywhere or open containers by any person in a vehicle (including golf carts) is prohibited (GR.2.20). Lastly, speed contests and exhibitions are not permitted (GR.5.1k). Fines for all of these violations range from $50 to $600.

Did You Know?

The Davis Stirling Act, which governs all HOAs requires that the Canyon Lake POA maintain a reserve study and healthy reserve funds. The Canyon Lake POA's boards have done a great job of this in recent years, and the money for many of these projects is already in the bank. The Davis Stirling act also requires the Canyon Lake POA to maintain all of the common area amenities. This is one of the Canyon Lake POA's primary obligations. All of this helps maintain healthy property values here in Canyon Lake, and helps modernize this aging 55-year-old community.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Halloween Access Reminders

As Halloween draws near, we want to share some important information about community access during this festive season. First, if you are inviting guests into the community, please utilize our e-pass service, which emails your guests their pass, which expedites their entry into the community. Also, please note that service providers are not permitted into the community on Halloween, October 31. Examples of service providers include contractors, delivery drivers (like DoorDash or pizza delivery), furniture deliveries, HVAC services, home cleaning services, in-home healthcare services, landscapers/pool services, plumbing services, ride share apps (like Uber or Lyft). If you have a service provider needing access to the community, please add them as a temporary guest for the day.
Visit Guest Access Page

Guest List Update

In an effort to prevent unauthorized access, starting October 2, temporary guests may only be added for a duration of up to three months. Please note that guest passes are only issued for up to 10 days for both temporary and permanent guests. Members who would like to add their guests for a longer duration may utilize the permanent guest feature, where they can add up to six permanent guests. The permanent guest list is cleared annually at the beginning of May as a measure to prevent unauthorized access.

Members can manage their guest lists through their dwellingLIVE app, on the dwellingLIVE website, or visit the Canyon Lake POA Member Services office for assistance.

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELMs) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters so they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map, which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.
