Member of the Month

The Member of the Month is the Fine Arts Guild. Started in 2001 with the intention of offering a wide range of musical events, the Guild has provided years of high-quality concerts by cover bands and has amassed over 200 members. In 2017, the Guild created HarborFest to provide a free concert to the whole community, inaugurating their now-annual event with a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. In addition to providing entertainment to the community, the club's philanthropic efforts include giving out scholarships, contributing to other clubs, and  donating $25,000 for the Holiday Harbor amphitheater and $10,000 to install the new sound system in the Holiday Bay Room at the Canyon Lake Lodge. The current board for the Guild consists of Bonnie Dubbs, Larry Garland, Chris Papavero, Cindy Cameron, Ira Strickland, Brian Wood, and Casey Castillo. We thank and honor the club's significant contributions over the last 24 years with this award.

Employee of the Quarter

The Employee of the Quarter is Tiffany Cribbs, Director of Community Services. Tiffany joined us 12 years ago as a Communications Specialist and quickly became instrumental in shaping how the Canyon Lake POA connects with the community. She built the Communications team from the ground up, creating the foundation for the communication tools and platforms the Canyon Lake POA uses today to keep members informed and connected.

In April 2024, Tiffany became the Director of Community Services, leading the Recreation, Member Services, and Communications departments. She has strengthened each area through innovation and teamwork, digitizing Member Services, restructuring Recreation, and expanding Communications to better serve the community. Thank you, Tiffany, for all your hard work and commitment to the Canyon Lake POA!

Pavement Seal Coating Project

The pavement seal coating project is underway this week, with notices sent out to the first affected neighborhoods. The project will continue through Monday, October 20. Seal coating protects and extends the life of asphalt pavements by applying a protective sealant that helps to prevent oxidation, weather damage, and wear from traffic.

Additionally, Longhorn Drive will be coated with slurry beginning Monday, October 20, through Thursday, October 23. Slurry is thicker than seal coats and is applied to high-traffic areas for longer sustainability and damage resistance.

Affected streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on their designated days, with temporary street closure and no parking signs posted in the work area 48 hours before work begins. Do not drive or walk on the surface until the barricades are removed, or you may damage the coating of your vehicle. Cost to clean up or reapply slurry will be the homeowner's responsibility.

Temporary street closed/no parking signs will be posted in the work area 48 hours before work begins.

Pavement Improvement Project

This year's pavement project, Phase 1, will begin on Monday, October 20, 2025, on Golden Gate Drive (cul-de-sac), Emperor Drive North (from Buck Tail Drive to Cinnamon Teal Drive), Moccasin Circle, Marblehead Circle, and Black Duck Drive. Equipment setup may begin three to five days prior, and parking may be limited. Temporary street closure and no parking signs will be posted 48 hours before work.

Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and during this time, the streets being worked on will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Vehicles should be parked in zones outside the area scheduled for reconstruction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will not be vehicular access to/from your residence during this period. Please do not drive through the construction area while the street is closed, as it is unsafe, and you may cause damage to your vehicle or the street surface. Any vehicle(s) parked in the street on designated asphalt reconstruction days between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. will be towed without further notice at the vehicle owner's expense.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this project.

Trick-or-Treating Reminders

To ensure everyone has a great time this Halloween, it's a good idea to remember a few precautions for trick-or-treaters. Encourage your trick-or-treaters to avoid costumes that hinder their vision or increase their risk of tripping. Trick-or-treaters should plan a designated route and a return time and always go trick-or-treating with parents or at least two friends. Canyon Lake does not have streetlights, so it will be dark. Trick-or-treaters should carry a flashlight and consider wearing or holding glow sticks to be more visible to drivers. Advise your trick-or-treaters to avoid running across the street or taking shortcuts through backyards. Lastly, trick-or-treaters should always practice stranger danger, never accept rides from strangers, and always avoid entering anyone's home.

Motorist Reminders

Halloween will be a very busy evening in our community with many children and families out and about after dusk. Motorists, please use caution when driving, as there will be many trick-or-treaters on the roads. Drive at a slower pace and take extra caution when backing out of driveways or making turns. Additionally, be sure to stay alert and watch for bikes, e-bikes, scooters, and skateboards on the roads.

Golf Course & Country Club
Closed for Overseeding

As a reminder, the Golf Course & Pro Shop closed for our annual overseeding on Monday, October 6, and will remain closed until Sunday, October 26. The Golf Course & Pro Shop reopen on Monday, October 27.

Overseeding is the process of planting new grass seeds directly over the existing turf. This process is necessary to help keep the fairways green year-round. In the fall and winter months, we overseed the golf course with perennial ryegrass, which is more favorable to the cooler weather we receive during these months. In the warmer months, the golf course has Bermuda grass, which tolerates the heat well.

The Country Club Bar & Grill will also be closed for annual maintenance from
October 20 through October 26, reopening on Monday, October 27.

Lake Contamination Reminder

A reminder that protecting the shoreline and waters of our lake is a shared responsibility. Dumping of debris or spillage of solids or liquid contaminants that could enter or drain into the lake is prohibited and will incur fines (GR.2.22). In addition, leaving trash, garbage, or other refuse, including yard debris such as leaves, on the shoreline is not permitted and will also result in fines (PC.4.16).

By working together to keep our lake clean, we reduce hazardous conditions and safeguard the wildlife ecosystem
