There's Still Time To Return Your Ballots! 

Election Day is Thursday, May 11

Three of the five seats on the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors are up for election in May 2023. The two-year terms of Renee Griffiths, Tim Cook, and Alex Cook are ending. Support your community by voting! There are six candidates vying for a seat on the 2023/25 Board. As of May 5, 1,244 ballots have been returned and we need 1,600 by Thursday, May 11 to meet quorum.

Today, May 5, is the last day recommended to return a ballot by mail. However you may return your ballot at the ballot box located at Blue Bird Hall (on the corner of Canyon Lake Drive South and Blue Bird Drive), or on the day of the election, May 11, at the Lodge from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Fiesta Hopper is all about lake life as we pay homage to all of the lake activities we are fortunate enough to experience living in Canyon Lake. This includes camping, water sports, swimming, fishing, skiing and so much more! This year we will have a petting zoo, carnival booths, waterslides, face painters, rockwall, reptile show, spiderwall, tubs ride, vendor booths and more! Plus, there will be no shortage of delicious foods with multiple food vendors throughout the community during this fun event.

Tuesday Work Group Recognized for 50 Years of Service

The Tuesday Work Group is a group of volunteers who offer their time, labor, and grit to help maintain and beautify the golf course at the Canyon Lake Golf & Country Club. This group of golfing volunteers has been a Canyon Lake POA group for over 50 years! The Canyon Lake POA recently honored the group with a plaque installed at the Canyon Lake Golf Course to commemorate their years of service. 

Board Meeting Recap

The Board met for their Regular Session Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 2. One 28 Day Reading was approved, and two Board Action Items were approved.  We thank everyone who participated in this meeting and as always encourage members to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. at the Lodge. Members may attend in person or online through Zoom at vm.clpoa.net.

Boating Rule Reminders

With the weather warming up and boating season around the corner, it's important to remember the rules that keep everyone safe on the water. One such rule is LM.2.6 - the prohibition of reckless or negligent behavior while operating a motorized boat. Marine Patrol will be monitoring for violations, especially in the East Bay where the speed limit is 5mph OR no wake. Let's all prioritize safety and follow the rules while enjoying the lake.

Great news, Canyon Lake! We are thrilled to announce that online reservations for Happy Camp are now available online at www.clpoa.com/campsite (must login to our website). Please take note of our holiday reservation policy for the Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays, in which reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance of the holiday weekend. This year, members will have the flexibility to make reservations online or in person for the Memorial Day weekend, beginning on Friday, May 12 at 8 a.m.  Plan your next outdoor getaway with just a few clicks and enjoy the beauty of nature and the serenity of the lake.

Use ePasses for Guests

Through dwellingLIVE members can have an ePass sent directly to their visitors via email or text message so they can either print their pass ahead of time, or the gate guard can scan their pass on their smartphone. Visitors can either hold up their smartphone or printed pass for the guard to scan. Gate guards will issue printed parking passes to eligible visitors who haven't yet printed the epass out. ePasses are the easiest way for your visitors to access the community in an expeditious manner.

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

PROJECT UPDATES

Year 2 Road Reconstruction Project RFP Posted

The Canyon Lake POA is excited to announce that it is currently accepting bids for its highly anticipated Year 2 Pavement Project. To participate in the bidding process, interested bidders must notify their intent to submit a bid no later than May 5, 2023. All bidders are encouraged to submit their inquiries regarding the project no later than May 12, 2023. All final bids be submitted by 4 p.m. on May 19, 2023.

The current balance of our Road Reserve and Road Litigation funds is $10,211,000. Each year, the Canyon Lake POA Board contributes more money to the Road Reserve funds for the purpose of continually maintaining our 37 miles of privately owned roads. The roads are the Canyon Lake POA's largest asset and maintenance liability.

Lodge Renovation

Work continues to make good progress at the Lodge! We are still in the first phase that focuses on the exterior patio and bar area. Phase 2 is the restaurant area, and Phase 3 is the lounge/dance floor. Dividing the project into these three phases allows the least disruption to the restaurant and bar functions so that the restaurant may remain open during construction. Our goal is to have this entire renovation complete by fall 2023. The renovation will not affect concerts and events in the Holiday Bay Room. We intend to keep the restaurant and bar open as much as possible throughout the construction.

Solar Project 

Solar structures are well underway at the Canyon Lake Golf Course over the driving range tee box. These solar panels have no upfront cost for the Canyon Lake POA and will generate over one million kilowatt-hours of clean energy, and save our members millions of dollars in energy costs in the coming decades.

Canyon Lake Drive Medians

Work continues on revamping our 55-year-old medians on Canyon Lake Drive. Landscaping continues and it's important to remember that there are still other elements of the project that are still underway. Once this project is complete, the new medians will feature new landscaping, trees, uplighting, and a left turn lane onto Bluebird Drive. Additionally, new curbing will eliminate the old mailbox turnout before Continental Drive.

Summer Swim Lessons &
Water Polo Registrations

Get your kids ready to make a splash this summer and sign them up for pool swim lessons or water polo! Dive into the fun with two swim lessons sessions each week starting from June 12 to August 4 (except for the week of July 4) or one 75 minute water polo session at 11:45 a.m. Monday - Friday. Aqua Fitness

Looking for a great workout at the pool? Try our new Aqua Fitness class at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday. Classes are currently $2.50 each, 10 classes for $20, or $30 for unlimited classes in one month. Individual classes will be $3 each starting May 1, so hurry and purchase your class soon! Classes can be purchased at the Pool office. Evening classes are coming soon!

Line Dancing Classes

Join the excitement of our popular line dancing class, led by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. With two class levels for beginners and improvers, you can find the perfect fit for your skill level. Purchase a punch card with five classes for just $20, or upgrade to 11 classes for only $40. Want to try before you commit? Attend a trial class for free! Tuesday class are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting with a Basic Introduction from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Beginners from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesdays, is the Improvers class from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are held at the Canyon Lake Lodge. - Get Fit With Sticks - 

Join fitness instructor Amanda Wagoner for a high-energy workout that includes easy-to-follow dance moves and dance sticks! Burn calories, have a blast, and groove to upbeat music. Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Lodge. Try your first class for free! Punch cards available for purchase at Canyon Lake POA office or Pool office. Classes are $36 for a six-class punch card, $40 for a seven-class punch card. Don't miss out on this fun and exciting fitness experience!

Senior Fitness Class

Enjoy fitness and fun at this senior fitness class. Improve your strength, mobility, mood, and circulation with a low impact, high energy workout! The class is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sunset Beach room at the Lodge. The class is 45 minutes. Six classes can be purchased for $36 or seven classes can be purchased for $40. Want to give a try before signing up? Try out your first class for free!

Restorative Hatha Yoga

Indulge in the blissful practice of Restorative/Hatha Yoga, a mindful class that allows you to slow down, relax, and deeply connect with your body. Join instructor Serena Estes on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the  Lodge for an experience that nurtures your body and mind. With a convenient six class punch card priced at just $36, or a seven class punch card for $40, you can easily make this practice a regular part of your wellness routine.
